The person in Android client - no images / art work / posters when using "manual connection" - #3 by cecoates explained it in a way that worked for me.
The Android app won’t load artwork if you’re not using 32400, even if you’ve manually configured your settings to use that port. The web view works fine, so this bug seems Android app specific.
Changing my Plex port back to 32400 fixed it instantly. It’s frustrating, because running two servers isn’t THAT unusual of a use-case, so it should be designed in a way where you don’t have to use one specific port or artwork breaks.
Something to try if you’re running into similar issues.
