For the past 2 weeks I’ve been having an issue with posters for shows/movies randomly not showing up. Sometimes when I open the entire library I’ll see no posters, sometimes I’ll see some, sometimes if I wait a min more will populate. No matter what, playlist posters no longer show. This is happening only on the latest Android, Shield, and Firestick apps. It isn’t happening using the website or Plex for Windows, where all the posters show immediately, even for playlists. I was at my parent’s house using an old version of the Fire TV app, 8.13.2.23227 and all was well. As soon as I updated to 8.15.0.23855, the problem started there (I have Android mobile and Shield at home). It has been happening with 2 different servers (1 local 1 remote) so I don’t think the problem is on the server end either (especially because everything is fine when using Plex on windows). I’ve cleared the cache. I’ve reinstalled the apps. Neither helped. Anyone else having this issue or have any suggestions?
I’ve also been having this issue for roughly two weeks. It impacts my Chromecast with Google TV and the app on my Android phone but I’ve not done any further digging just yet. Will try to later.
FINALLY, someone else having the issue. I still have it going on here. There seems to be no rhyme or reason as to when the posters show up and which posters show up. If I go in and out of the app several times I have different results. Only consistent thing is that playlist posters never show up.
Looks like I’m back in action with the 4/19 8.16.0.24423 version on Android. Haven’t tried FireTV yet. Don’t know what happened, nor what was changed, but don’t care as long as it is working again.
I’m also on 8.16.0.24423 and I’ve noticed that for about the past 2-3 weeks, on Plex for Android, episode, season, and show posters do not appear at the top of the app EXCEPT when I first visit the ep, season, or show from the home screen. I.E. it will show that particular episode’s poster when I go directly to it from the home screen, but then if i tap back to jump the season, then visit a different episode (or the same one again) then it just shows the show’s main vertical-poster (the one on the left side of the screen) vs the specific 4x3/16x9 one for the particular season or episode.
for the items where it’s not working, it doesn’t show a broken image or anything, it just basically seems to think there is no specific poster image at all.
