I currently have a Plex Media Server setup up with the Plex Home feature enabled. I have a couple of managed accounts for family members. We have a bunch of devices that are all logged into my Plex account that allows me and my family to all be able to watch our Plex content and switch between users easily depending on who is watching. The problem that I am running into and wanted to see if it was bug or if the system was designed this was is I had a device called “Brother iPhone” in the authorized Devices and I removed it from the authorized devices expecting it to force him to log out and he would need to ask me to log in again for him. Later that day though I looked on Plex and under activity saw that he was watching a movie no problem on the device “Brother iPhone”. I thought that was really odd, so I did some more investigating and had him “close”/refresh the app and still he was not forced to login. He watches movies/shows under his managed account named “Brother” so he keeps his watch history separate from the rest of my family. I had him switch to my “user”/profile and the second he was switched to my profile he was logged out of his device. I didn’t try on other devices, but I would assume the same thing happens. The bug to me is when I remove an authorized device from my Plex account it should revoke access for my user AND for all of the managed accounts under my user as well.
The scenario I described above was more to find the bug more than anything else. I ran into this issue as well when one of my brothers friends was using my plex account and I had no way to prevent him from watching (other than changing the password on my account) even after I revoked access to his device since he watched videos under my brothers managed account and not my user.
I also know that I should being having my users create their own Plex accounts and that would be much easier to manage/revoke access to them, but for the time being I still think there is should be a bug filed for revoking authorized devices from an account and all the child managed accounts as well.
