Can someone offer me suggestions why my PR4100 keeps disconnecting from Plex. I spoke with WD support and my internet company for help. Each have clearly explain that the problem seems to be with Plex Tv. I just don’t know after 2 months of searching. I even had WD to send me another PR4100 and it provides the same problem.
Just some clarification… are you running the Plex Media Server on the PR4100 or do you only use the NAS as storage for a PMS running on a Windows machine? I’m a bit confused about the tags vs. content of your message.
As for the issue at hand… what exactly are you experiencing?
Is this about a player losing the connection to your server, the server losing the connection to your storage… or simply the server “giving up”?
The Plex Media Server on the PR4100 unable to be found. I can reinstall the Plex app and for about 2-3 minutes I can view my media. Then Plex server loses connection to my storage.
What do you mean by “Then Plex server loses connection to my storage”?
Are you accessing the server through a Plex app or the browser?
If you’re using the browser… are you using the hosted or bundled version (https://app.plex.tv/desktop vs. http://[PR4100 IP address]:32400/web)?
I’m new to this, so forgive my lack of knowledge. I login the desktop. I login to mycloud through the I.P. if that make sense. Is there any system information on the first media drive. I’m asking because it’s the one that fires up when my storage first connects and I see all my media.
I’ve been unable to view my media through the Plex app and website. When I turn on my WD Pr4100 I cannot at see my media at the Plex website. it says MyCloudPR4100 is currently unavailable. I see my storage libraries with the triangle. The very first time this happened it was the was an OS5 update to my PR4100. After update my storage media unit is available as well as my libraries. Within 2 - 7 minutes my storage media is lost. MyCloudPR4100 is once again unavailable.
