ISP Modem/Router port>gigbit switch>roku/ds1813+/PR4100 both NAS using bonding or as wd call it link aggregation.
I also tried the pr4100 without link aggregation fyi.
The pr4100 shows up on plex on the roku with a red triangle but asking for activation gives a 4 digit code which i tried different times, just took me back to asking for activation again…
Have reinstalled system on pr4100 and have all the “options” enabled ftp etc as I did before I screwed up my network, I attach a log from the pr4100 but wondered if there were any suggestions with this information.
The link you’re seeing is to connect the Roku to your Plex account – not to a specific server.
Do you use the same Plex account for both Plex Servers (I take it you have one on the Synology + WD NAS)? If Roku sees one but not the other… that implies it’s more about the Plex account.
Your “network map” is not 100% clear to me – I suppose the devices (PMS, Roku) are on the same subnet)?
1: ISP modem/router
2: network um-managed switch, 16 ports.
3: Ports used by
a: ds1813+ bonded nic1 and 2,
b: WD PR4100 nic1 and 2 again bonded
c: Roku
When I enter the link code at plex.tv/link is takes me to a “Button” asking for me to enter my pin and then it simply starts the loop again
Can you try signing into the Plex web app before attempting to link your Roku?
Does your browser have any plugins / extensions that might interfere with Plex (e.g. content blockers)? – to verify if this is based on your browser or a more generic issue you could try linking your account from a different browser
I have completed cleared all cookies etc from Chrome using the advanced tab clearing all password etc, if that helps in anyway. I suspect some old setting has got stuck somewhere, this was my forum thread which led me to my current set up again if that helps rather than adds confusion.
I had used Raid Roaming taking discs from an ex4100, I solved the inability to register with Plex by taking all 4 disks out and inserting just different one in bay one then doing quick restore. I left all the settings as default. Either the data on the 4 drives taken from ex4100 are corrupt or the original firmware on pr4100 is best not updated, I am delighted to have found a solution.
