I’ve got 1 trailer playback setup, plus a random pre-roll of about 2 dozen files and then the movie. When playing remotely on 2 separate appleTV devices in 2 different homes/networks, I’m observing the same problem. The trailer always plays fine, as does the pre-roll. But if a 4k Pre-roll video is run followed by a 1080p movie, then a playback error is encountered and the movie can’t be played unless we start over from the beginning (another trailer and a different pre-roll). The same thing seems to happen if it’s a 1080p pre-roll and a 4k movie.
If the pre-roll and movie content type is the same (which is most of my pre-rolls and movies) then everything works fine.
This seems to happen locally too and maybe with my NVidia shield pro as well. I think it’s something with how the Plex server combines both the pre-roll and movie into “one” stream. (at least that’s how it appears in playback.
Happy to try to recreate with guidance for what’s needed!
