Hi,
I’m having issues with my custom pre-roll at the start of my films.
It used to work perfectly fine but it doesn’t seem to work on this latest version of Plex.
It doesn’t even load or appear like it’s loading in the UI. It goes straight to the film as if I haven’t set a custom pre-roll up.
Changing the player settings “Cinema Trailers to Play Before Films” and the server settings “Include Cinema Trailers…” doesn’t seem to do anything.
I’m running everything from my Synology NAS and I know the pre-roll video isn’t too resource intensive as it’s worked on the same hardware before.
On what player app are you experiencing this (or is it a general issue across different apps)?
Have you verified the preroll video is still available via the path you configured in your server settings (incl. permissions)?
I’m experiencing this issue on every player I could test. On Plex Web, on the Plex app, on the Plex Samsung TV app and on the Plex Apple TV app. It seems to be an issue across different players but that is the extent of my knowledge…
Yes, I have checked that the file is still there, permissions are good and it is still playable. I even tried playing a film (that I know works) as the pre-roll and the issue is still present. Just skips strait to the main feature.
It turns out that there is a hidden setting within the individual library settings.
You have to go to Library > Edit > Advanced and turn on the pre-rolls for that library.
