I updated to Version 1.23.4.4712 now pre roll will not work unless trailers are set to at least play 1,
my other server Version 1.23.3.4707 plays preroll with “show trailers” set to 0

I can confirm I have the same issue after upgraded to PMS version 1.23.4.4712. My server runs on windows 10 with latest updates. I have tested it with all Plex clients but no success until I set Cinema trailers to play before movie to 1. Then plex client plays one movie trailer and my custom trailers specified in Extras.
I’m waiting for an PMS update with a fix for this issue.

I’m having the same issue. Only fix seems to be to change every player’s individual settings. Is there a way we can follow the bug report for this so we’re notified of a fix?
Sorry there is not. You can book mark the server release notes topic to get notified of changes. Plex Media Server - #441 by janoskk
Highly recommend updating Notifications and as Big Wheel mentions Bookmark is one way. So go to Announcements / Plex Media Server/ Version 1.23.4.4712

Same for me. I have a pre-roll running for all Movie libraries and none work. I’ve closed the app and restarted the server yet no luck. Even tried moving the file to a different location and renaming the file - still no pre-roll. Running Mac Mini M1 (been solid as rock until now).
I am seeing the same thing on my Apple TV, my WebClient, my Mobile device and those I have shared my system with. This feature has been working flawlessly, and now its not. This was useful because I used that space to notify of various things (ie… server maintenance, changes, etc). I would appreciate it if this feature was restored.

Hi guys,
I have downgraded my PMS to version 1.23.3.4706. Now Preroll and Remote Access is working without any issues. I can confirm PMS 1.23.4.4712 cause all those issues. I have been waiting more than 5 days for a bug fix but still got nothing. So I don’t have any other option other than downgrade my PMS.

Just uninstall the PMS first without deleting any settings. Reinstall PMS with the version you want. I don’t have a Mac. So I can’t tell windows method will work on Mac or Not. It’s always good to backup Plex before do it.

I’ll be leaving my PMS set to Public once it’s rolled back.
Rolled it back to the latest public release all is good again. Going to leave it on Public and hope they don’t screw it up in the future.
I also rolled it back. I also switched update channel to PUBLIC. Hopefully it will get fixed before it goes into the next public release cycle.
I can also confirm that my pre-rolls are not working with (1.23.4.4712) Linux version. I didn’t notice this until I watched a movie this weekend and wondered what happened to my custom pre-rolls. Nothing has changed on my server other than updating it last week to the current version. I hope the devs resolve this issue in the next update.

Nope the issue is still there. The pre-rolls do not play before a movie with version (1.23.4.4775). I don’t think any devs have confirmed this issue, so until they can confirm it, I don’t think it’s on the list to fix.
