Now that DSM 7.1 is final release, you area 100% safe to upgrade.
There were problems with the DSM 7.1 BETA.
As I’ve stated here in the forums, given the problems with the DSM 7.0 beta and 7.1 beta, it has been decided that our policy of not supporting Beta OS distributions has been extended to include NAS platforms.
Once in Final Release form, DSM 7.1 was fully compatible with the existing PMS package. No changes were required.
With that said, again, you’re 100% safe to upgrade to DSM 7.1 Final Release.
