Hello,
I have an issue with my IPhone 12 pro max - V. 15.01, as I cannot access my Plex library (Locally or out of my network) and always appears as offline through my Plex application in my phone or if I access the plex-web from a browser in the phone (Chrome or Safari).
On the contrary my library is working well from my IPad V. 14.5 , an android phone and from a windows browser.
is there any issue regarding the last update from apple (15) a conflict with Plex.
NB: my plex server is installed on my WD-My Cloud 6 TB.
Appreciate your advise and support regarding this issue.
I have the same problem on my iPhone SE (second generation)
The Plex app indicates that my server (MyCloud Ex2 Ultra) is offline.
I have reinstalled the app but the problem is always present.
On my tv, the Plex app works fine without problem.
Like you say, maybe that the problem comes from iOS 15 or from the last version of Plex ?
Wait and see and I hope that a solution comes quickly.
Kind regards.
Have you tried setting āallow insecure connectionsā and āprefer insecure connectionsā to always?
There have been some issues with expired Letās Encrypt certificates that have caused a multitude of issues the last day or two, and they have been resolved by allowing insecure connections, since then the certificate isnāt checked.
Maybe this is also one of them.
Same problems with plex app on iOS (V15ā¦x, iPhone 11 Pro, My Cloud Home) while it is working on other devices, but even with third-party apps on the same device (like Plexamp or Prologue).
For me, now that is works fine.
I have seen that my local router with the upnp function was in position off. I have put the position on and now the Plex app on my iPhone works perfectly.
Plex app on iPhone XS Max says access to WD my cloud duo is offline on local network but iPad Pro has access. Was working on local network yesterday. What changed?
Hereās my issue. Iphone 1st gen SE. Plex server says offline for server 1 in IOS App but I can reach server 1 and login with Safari. Server 2 shows online and normal status in IOS App.
Roku, no problems, both server 1 and 2, no issues.
Ipad touch (2020 model), no problems as well. Both servers working perfectly.
same issue here! iphone 12 says server is offline while other devices connect just fine. where do you modify the secure connection? on the server side or on the app? any guidance is appreciated.
Same issue. Seems like the latest iOS updates made Plex totally unusable on iPhone. Canāt connect to the server in the app and every time I try the browser interface it tells me it canāt connect securely. It works on all my other devices.
I have signed out multiple times, disabled and reenabled my entire library (a huge inconvenience that messed up all my tags and sorting), multiple device restarts, sign outs, changing permissions/security options on network, identified a specific port in my network for remote access. Nothing has worked and my app constantly disconnects from the server both when I am local and remote.
I started having similar problems after updating to the latest iOS App and running iOS 14.8 (iPad and iPhone give same result). Iām only accessing content locally and all my Roku devices work fine. iOS App says Plex Server is āOfflineā.
Iāve tried rebooting server, which is running on a Raspberry Pi 4, and reinstalling apps to no avail.
I have also been having this issue.
I am able to access my āMyCloud Homeā server from other devices with no issue, but the server appears āOfflineā with the iOS app on my iPhone.
This issue started about 2 weeks ago (I assume when the latest iOS Plex update occurred) and has yet to be resolved.
I have tried deleting the app, reconfiguring the connection between the server and Plex, logging out and signing back in to the app, etc.
Same issue here. It works on iPad mini and iPad Pro but it is not working on iPhone app.
Recent update about 2 weeks or so seems to be the culprit. Even the app is not showing the option to allow insecure connections anymore. So definitely something changed in the app that introduce this bug. Everything else is working just fine: iPads and Android devices are not affected.
