Plex Server Randomly Offline for iPhone

Server Version#: came with WD MYCloud Home
Player Version#: Current

Randomly, Plex on my iPhone will report that it cannot connect securely to the Plex server. Usually though the issue will resolve itself.

This time it has not resolved itself.

The Plex Server works great with my iPhone.

Any ideas on what’s going on and how to fix the issue?

Thanks for any help.

Sorry it’s been 23 days with no help. This has been more than two weeks for me since I’ve been able to use Plex on my iPhone 12. Nothing works to fix it. Must be something with Plex and iOS not matching up. Would love to hear from the developers or real client support about this considering I have paid for their app.

Same issue here. Works on Plex on my TV, but phone reports server offline.

My server version is 4.12.3.

Deleted and reinstalled the app from my iPhone today. The app on my phone shows my plex server is offline. The Plex app on my Roku devices works just fine. Plexamp on my iPhone works just fine, but Plex on my phone fails. Web access works fine.

I’d love to know how to fix this. Plexamp is useful, but sometimes I need the Plex app on my phone. Any ideas how to resolve this? I am a plex pass holder, if that matters.

It’s been 3 weeks now and I have been posting about this and trying to get help and there’s no answers from anyone who works at Plex. Completely unusable on iPhone after I updated to ios15. Can’t use app or browser, says my server is offline. I have spent hours troubleshooting. Creating a dedicated open port for remote connection, deactivating my sever altogether and starting over (which erased hours of work cleaning up my library). It works on everything else except my iPhone which is the main thing I want to use Plex for.

If I get the time, I’ll see if I can run a packet capture and troubleshoot this a little more. It would be nice to have some help from Plex support.

I manually updated my Plex server to version 1.24.5.5173 and magically, my iPhone connects again. I did have to enable insecure connections, which I believe only allows connections from the local subnet, which is completely fine for my situation.

So glad to have this resolved.
