Problem installing PMS 0.9.1702.0

Hi all,


I am having problems installing the last plex update .
the installation process stops with the following error code : 0x80240017

attached the log file

can someone help me?

I had the same issue during the in place upgrade for 0.9.1702.0. Unfortunately I can’t say what caused this but I was able to cancel, download and start the installation again which worked.

Alternatively there is a cached copy stored locally in the current logged in users app directory…

…\AppData\Local\Plex Media Server\Updates

Which Windows OS are you installing on?

Is it a Windows Server ? Is it windows 8N ?

Is it up to date with all windows updates ?

Seems that it tried to install MediaPack and got an error
May be the OS detection failed

The error was
0x80240017 WU_E_NOT_APPLICABLE: Operation was not performed because there are no applicable updates.`

OS is windows 8 and it’s up to date

It’s not a big issue because i’m planning to move to linux

Is Windows 8.1,8.0 or the N edition of them ?

no N edition

Could you see if you have these log files and please zip the ones you find and attach the zip
All start with pms_installer in the filename

C:\Users	uco\AppData\Local\Plex Media Server\Logs\pms-installer_001_pmsshutdown.log
C:\Users	uco\AppData\Local\Plex Media Server\Logs\pms-installer_002_vcredist.log

And after doing that, could you to install version 1.0.0.2261 and provide all the installer logs for that if it fails
