Hi Fellow Forum Members
At this moment, I believe that I can now answer all of your queries and, to keep things simple, I will list my answers in the order the queries were posted:
- Hi Tom80H
You said, “You’ll probably be better off using the Fix Match option on the show itself.”
To tell you the truth, I have never seen this facility within Plex nor would I know which subsection within “Setting” I would find it.
Therefore, could you please post some simple instructions on where to find the “Fix Match option*”.*

Well FG, you’ve asked, Can I supply screenshots of my directory listing or screenshot showing how the show is named and organized, etc.
You know, I do not feel comfortable putting screenshots of my Plex data and/or screens in the forum. Just a touch of my paranoia peeking through.
I am much more at ease typing out a sample of how I enter my TV show data in Windows Explorer, where Plex then scans and picks up.
Just found out, I cannot attach any additional notes, tables or diagrams to my post.
Moving on, Hi OttoKerner
You suggested, “If you are using TVDB as your primary reference, you should set “TVDB (Aired)” as the default “Episode Ordering” of your library”.
Well, I am using three methods, IMDB IDs for the show’s name, season number and year. I then use a tagging utility, to add photos and additional data, and TVDB ID’s for individual episodes.
On the whole, my method seems to work up to and until Plex throws a wobbly and picks on some shows to overwrite everything with either Japanese or South Korean shows, complete with posters, non-English data and Japanese or South Korean cast and crew.
And as you can imagine, it’s this “wobbly“ I am trying to prevent
Getting tired, and I still haven’t finished this post yet.
Gonna get back to it in a few hours, after a sandwich and some sleep (I’ll probably re-write it once I clear the fog from my poor ancient brain).
