After the latest update, the Web App doesn’t show the correct video resolution anymore. The Plex Media Player in the Version 3.69.0 shows the correct resolution of each video.

Can you please give an example?
It looks like there’s been some clean-up… e.g. I have a short film as 4K and 1080p version. in 3.69 this used to be displayed as 1080p, with 3.71.1 it is correctly labelled as 4K. Regular BR rips seem to be identified correctly as 1080p.
I cannot see any incorrect resolutions in 3.71.
Sure! Here you can see it exactly. The correct video resolution is 576p as shown in the Media-Information and on the desk the video resolution is shown as 480p. That’s new and wasn’t ever happen in the past.
oh… got it.
yes – it appears all my dvd based content is now listed as 480p instead of 576p (or i).
sidenote: you might want to look into your file naming… I doubt Plex automatically/correctly matched this episode, did it?
should be more like ... > Spreewaldkrimi (2006) > Season 01 > Spreewaldkrimi (2006) - s01e10 - Zwischen Tod und Leben.mkv
Yes, it work absolutely fine since years! That’s the way all my episodes in series are arranged!
Do you have an idea why this change to the video resolution takes only effect to the new Web App and not to other clients? Will this become changed back? The resolution information is definitely wrong…
Can you provide me the XML for that file?
Hi, I’m very sorry to see, that this change now took effect to all other applications as well. This is really, really sad and makes my work with Plex much harder. I can’t understand what the intention is to give out wrong information about the resolution of a Video… Is there a plan to repair this again and bing bag the good old quality and correct results?
If you still need a XML file, I’ll send it to you.
No need. I think I know what the problem is.
