Problem sharing with friends

Hi.

I have a monthly plexpass, and basically my problem is …
When I share a movie with friends, they can access it, but they can only play it for 1 minute.

What may be causing this problem?

One or more of the following:

  1. Your upload speed is not sufficient to stream
  2. Your server is not sufficient to transcode
  3. Your friends’ are using subtitles, requiring transcoding on your server
  4. Your friends’ download speed is not sufficient, requiring transcoding
  5. Video incompatibility (e.g. 4K video) with the target (your friend’s device), requiring transcoding

You’ll need to post a lot more information starting with the media info, your internet speed, the devices your friends are using, the settings on those devices, and their internet speeds.

My guess is they’re using one of the mobile Plex apps, but haven’t paid for it. If so, they need to either pay the one-time fee for the app, or get their own Plex Pass.

No, I may not express myself well. I have a monthly plexpass, I would be enabled so that my friends can see without restrictions, until yesterday they could do it, but I don’t know what change and today he asks for the application to activate and the video is cut to the minute. as it happens with free plex

Your Plex Pass does not pass along to others you share with. Only members of your Plex Home can use the mobile apps without paying for them.

Plex Home is meant for folks you actually live with, so your spouse and kids for example don’t have to buy the mobile apps. It is not meant to allow anyone on earth you share with to get the app for free.

How many domestic users are allowed?

For these three scenarios a person does not have the 1 minute limit with mobile apps.

  1. bought the app itself (not a Plex Pass)
  2. have an active Plex Pass
  3. are in the Plex Home of someone with an active Plex Pass.

A person with a Plex Pass can have up to 14 others in their Plex Home
