Problem sorting albums

Hello everyone,

Is it possible to sort music albums this way with Plex:

Album artist > Years album released.

The sorting suggestions offered by Plex are really problematic because the real possibilities are always with sorting by “Album” in the first place.

No sorting seems possible with “Album Artist” first.

And in fact, it even seems that the initial sorting can only be done by the “Artist” and not the “Album Artist” (which is not the same thing)

Thank you for your clarification if I missed anything.

You can have an AlbumArtist list, sorted alphabetically.
Then you can dive down into one of the artists and have their albums sorted by release date either oldest or newest first.
Alphabetical by album title is also an option.

There is no way for a two-tier sort in the general list – i.e. first by album artist then by release date.

Not in fact. Plex doesn’t almost exclusively uses album artists.
