Problem to enable subtitles

sorry for the mistakes, i’m not english
i’ve spent hours looking for a solution as i defintly know that the problem is usually between the chair and the screen … but… i need help

I’ve been using PMS for years on my Synology NAS and now i cannot make it work well on my Nvidia Shield:

Even if (i think) i did a good subtitles configuration, i still don’t have anything…

I’d like to have the automatic subtitles download. I’m not using External SRT

  • In Agents > Movies > Plex Movies, i activated opensubtitles.org and then plex movie. I registered log in and opensubtitles password

  • In Languages, i chose the automatic audio and subtitles selection with english for audio and french for subtitles (always activated)




When i open a movie, i don’t have any option for the subtitles. I cannot select anything. it’s just written “none”. For years i used PMS on my synology and it was working perfectly

Please, help…

If you are using external SRT subtitles in the same folder as the movie/show, enable Local Media Assets. Then refresh the metadata for the library. See Adding Local Subtitles to Your Media.

I’ve downloaded and read the text file of the log.

I keep having this kind of message:

And this is weird to:

Cannot read model from /storage/48EC3537EC35211C/Android/data/com.plexapp.mediaserver.smb/Plex Media Server/Metadata/Movies/c/327f5802fc6986a3a4016a28abaf0c507ec5a59.bundle/Contents/com.plexapp.agents.opensubtitles

I’ve tried with something like 100 movies. no subtitles while they have the good name / picture and stuff.

before i was using PMS on my synology NAS (with the same movies) and i never had this problem. I’m using a Nvidia Shield now

Can i have some help please?

I’ve never had much luck with opensubtitles.org, and no idea how to troubleshoot. Hopefully somebody can assist.

There is a limit of 200 / 24 hours. Maybe that is coming into play? See this post for more info.

Fetching Internet Sourced & Using Your Own Subtitle Files mentions additional places you can manually download subtitles.

OMG, problem solved because of a recent update of Plex; I’m so happy with that.
i’ve just found out that now, it’s possible de download subtitles straight from the movie page and for me, it works perfectly!
