Problem when Reclaiming Server

Server Version#: DSM 7.0.1 Update 3
Player Version#: 1.26.0.5715-7000
I’ve always gotten along without needing to know too much about the systems side of Plex, but now I am lost. Any help would be appreciated.

I upgraded to DSM 7. I did the steps to give Plexmediaserver full control. It seems like it all installed fine. When I logged in the first time, it said that I needed to reclaim the server. I have 2 Plex servers on two different synology devices, one at home and one that I keep at the office. I reclaimed the work server as one of my userids (probably not the same one I used previously), and, I can actually see the libraries when I login remotely to Plex. BUT I can’t give access to any other users, nor can I see the libraries when I login with any of the other userids. I had a user setup for the library at the office, and it had full control over the Plex libraries - now it cannot even see those libraries. When I am logged in, I can’t really change any settings for the Plex work server, but I can for the home server. I did also try reclaiming the server with the other userid, but it didn’t work either. I couldn’t see anything at all that way.

Any suggestions or ideas what I can try next? Thanks so much!

You want both servers claimed by the same account, correct?

Current:
PMS1 claimed by User1
PMS2 claimed by User2

Desired:
PMS1 & PMS2 claimed by User1

  1. The NAS you want to re-claim must be running DSM 7.x.
  2. You will need the Plex Media Server file (.apk) to re-install on the desired server. You can download it from plex.tv/downloads if needed.

On the Synology NAS for PMS2, uninstall Plex Media Server using the “keep” option. Then re-install Plex using the “Plex Claim Token” option, using User1 to generate the claim token.

See Synology FAQ #15: FAQ 15: Claiming & Connecting to a troublesome Synology server

There are other options, but the keep / claim token is the easiest. FAQ 15 also has info if the Synology is running DSM 6.
