Problem with Czech Subtitles(Synology)

Hello, I have a problem with Czech subtitles. Czech contains a lot of characters that plex can not read (ě,š,č,ř,ž,ý,á,í,é etc…)…It doesn’t work…Thank you

I see that the plex probably doesn’t solve: - /

Where do these subtitles come from?
Are they

  • embedded in the video file (“internal” subs)
  • separate subtitle file beside the video file (“external” subs)
  • added with Plex’ own “search for subtitles” feature
    ?

I bet that crappy subtitles are used. I don’t have any problems with czech characters (android tv, Mac, iOS, LG or web).

I have the same problem. A solution is to save a subtitles like UTF-8 instead of standard ANSI. But it´s really annoying to do that for all subtitles.

There is software out there, which can do that for a whole library in “batch mode”.
