I’m running Plex in a jail on a Freenas server, and it’s been working fine for several years.
Now however I’ve changed ISP and updated my router firmware on the same day, and now the remote access no longer works.
I’ve been talking with my ISP and verified that there’s no double NAT, which I’ve also verified by looking at the public IP and my WAN IP. Furthermore I’ve verified that port forwarding works for other applications (e.g. NextCloud).
I’ve spent a couple of hours with the Unifi routing support chat yesterday and they can’t find any fault in the routing or the UPNP config.
I’ve tried to create a port forwarding rule on port 32400 to my Plex server, and testing shows that the port forward itself works, but when I log into www.plex.tv it still says unavailable.
When accessing the web interface directly on the server and going to server settings -> remote access it says:
"Fully accessible outside your network
You can access this server from signed-in Plex apps or in a browser at https://plex.tv/web."
But there’s the red X’s instead of IPs further down.
“Private Unknown IP Public Unknown IP Internet”
I’ve looked at “netstat -af inet” on this an other jails, and I noticed that on other, remotely accesible jails, there’s a lot of connections, but on the Plex jail the output reads: “netstat: no namelist”.
I don’t know what that means however.
I have no more ideas what might cause the remote access to not work.
Any help is greatly appreciated!
