Problem with TheMovieDb and italian films

Hi everyone,

TheMovieDb agent has a strange behavior, for some movies it recognize without errors italian description and title, for others it use all english details.

For example this film:

english title: razorback
italian title: razorback: oltre l’urlo del demonio

this is the page: https://www.themoviedb.org/movie/26178-razorback all seems right in this page

I try to change identification, search for the title and the result is right

then I click on the title, and the movie title and description is all in English language

though the metadata page is correct: https://api.tmdb.org/3/movie/26178?api_key=a3dc111e66105f6387e99393813ae4d5&language=it why the agent doesn’t use that?

I have insert “italy” both on the library settings and in the agent, Themoviedb as primary agent and only themoviedb checked under the agent section…

Where is the error?

I would like to know too, I have an Italian film called La vita e bella and it changes all the details to English, I want it in Italian not english. I will let you know if I come across anything. Just out of curiosity what file format are your films in?

Onestly I have no problem with “la vita è bella”, details are all in Italian language… They are both mkv files.
However the film that I mentioned its only an example, there are other film with wich the agent has the same behavior, I don’t understand why If there is a complete page for the film in Italian on themoviedb the agent download English metadata…

Might be worth asking a Plex guru if thats what they are called, I don’t own enough Italian films, as I haven’t had the list from the wife, but I am sure when I start to get that list I will hit the same issue that you are

I found myself the solution:
when metadata are updated on themoviedb.org, plex has some difficulties to update local cache, even some days after If we rescan metadata plex read only the cached data.

So the solution is to delete cache folder and rescan for identification.
