Problems detecting TV shows

I’ve been moving over to use Plex, and frankly I love it. Mostly :wink:

I’ve had some issues importing my TV shows. These have been catalogued isung sickchill, so they have nfo files and the naming should be good. However, some of them just won’t show up in Plex. The files are on the same volume as the plex server is running on (on my synology).

What I’ve tried:

  • Move the whole directory
  • Delete the cache
  • Rescan files
  • Move directory back
  • Rescan files
  • The whole thing, except remove all nfo files before moving them back
    None of this works.

What DOES work, strangely, is manually creating the folder (using copy/paste from the old folder name, so it shouldn’t be a naming problem) and the move the seasons folders from the “old” location to the one set up in Plex.

Anyone know why this might be?

I doubt it’s a naming issue as it started working without changing anything in the naming scheme. It could be a permission issue, though, so thanks for that. I’ll try resetting the permissions if it happens again :slight_smile:
