Problems playing content remotely

Hi,

I am trying to allow my brother to watch my content from my Plex library. He used to own a Sony Bravia TV and never had any issues. He’s now got a Samsung QE75Q9FN TV and trying to use the built-in app but it’s just sitting there saying loading when he tries to play anything.

When I check on the server it says it’s transcoding from 1080P to 720P which I wouldn’t have thought would be a problem. I am also presuming this is the issue?

I tried on my own iPhone through a 4G connection using the official iOS app and that also has the same issue. But when I find content that will DirectPlay it seems fine.

I asked him to try through his Playstation 4 but he says the app is just crashing all the time.

Are there some settings I can check that might resolve this? I have tried setting everything limited to 8mbps and also 12mbps but it doesn’t seem to make a difference.

Also I just noticed when playing on my phone on 4G it doesn’t as it wants to transcode but but as soon as I go on WiFi on the same network it works fine and DirectPlay works. I don’t understand.

I’ve resolved this… It was server settings for transcoding settings. I basically set everthing to auto.
