Problems to create a PMS in Synology after reinstallation

Server Version#: 1.18.2.2058
Player Version#: 3.104.2

Hi, I uninstalled the PMS in my Synology NAS DS1019+ following this steps:

  1. Package Center - Uninstall the Plex app

  2. Control Panel - Shared Folders - Delete the Plex share

  3. Control Panel - Users - Delete user plex

  4. Reboot the NAS

  5. Reinstall PMS from Package Center and update to 1.18.2.2058

When i started again the PMS (http://ip.addr.of.syno:32400/web?secure=0) enter automatically to my account, and i cant find any Server settings. How can I create a Plex Server in my NAS?

Thanks!!

  1. Sign out of Plex/web (upper right)
  2. Now open http://ip.addr.of.syno:32400/web?secure=0
  3. Sign in / Got It / Setup wizard as normal.

The ?secure=0 makes it relax this ONE time. Once claimed, it will have no impact.

Thank you ChuckPA, i followed that and the result its the same  https://youtu.be/fi6mNnD2y_k

As observation, the “NAS Sabinos” server it’s a PMS installed in another location.

Go to Package Center
Make certain it’s running

If it is, Stop it.

File Station
Plex share (give yourself permission to r/w it in Control Panel - Shared Folders if you don’t)
Navigate down until you see “Preferences.xml”
Rename it to “Preferences.xml.old”

Start Plex
Now sign out of Plex/web again Open the NAS IP

Your video showed you were still signed in… This will not work.

When you get to the “Sign In” , Go to enter another address.

Do Not sign in using another address.

Look to the lower right corner for What’s This?

Click it. It is the unsecure setup.
Follow it,
Accept the “Limited” option and continue.
When you get into it, and start to setup, then claim it when it’s discovered at the dashboard.

This is a workaround.

I am curious what your Computer IP and Synology IP addresses are. Are they on the same subnet ?

Thank you Chuck!! You are very kind and helpful, the problem was that my NAS are in a subnet :man_facepalming: and the solution was put the NAS LAN 2 into my same subnet…

Again, Thank you very much!
