I do not have that problem at all. Whenever I add files Plex scans and picks them up quite quickly. This is true for both TV shows and Movies.
I do not remember if your setup has DrivePool and Plex on the same computer or on different computers. I am running DrivePool on one computer with the pool shared on my network and Plex runs on a different computer that accesses the pool via a mapped drive.
I do not know what the problem could be in your case but I would be happy to compare settings to see if I have something set, or not set, that makes a difference.
The other thing is that, as I think you know, I have nothing but Plex running on my Plex server computer and nothing but DrivePool running on its computer.
In other words I keep my system as simple and straightforward as possible and that may contribute to the reliability I experience.
Hi @Elijah_Baley
Thanks for the reply.
My configuration is VERY basic.
Dedicated PC for both PMS and Drive Pool. Nothing else runs on that box except a FTP server.
This started after I installed Drive Pool and I have changed no settings in PMS and changed nothing in DP after the installation.
I do have 6 drives in the pool for 45TB of disk…
Could that be the issue???
Might be a good idea to post over at Stable Bit?? (They will prolly say it’s Plex… LOL)
BTW, My PMS version is current public version and Drive Pool is also at the latest release 2.2
I had some problems when I ran Plex and DrivePool on the same computer. The problems I had were not anything like what you are seeing but they were irritating enough to make me separate the two systems.
I do not think it has anything to do with the size or number of drives in the pool as I have 11 drives making up a 50tb pool.
Asking at StableBit would be good as they are what is new to your system.
However I do think DrivePool and Plex do not always coexist real well on the same computer. Most people seem to have no problems but there also seem to be some of us that do have problems.
But it could be something minor in the settings that is causing the problem. It could be that installing DrivePool has exposed a slight flaw in Plex that can be adjusted by a tweak of some setting. I do not know for sure and that kind of problem often can only be fixed by trial and error and much beer in many cases. (Double meaning intended) For me trial and error usually leans heavily or the error side.
