Progam guide information in New Zealand (NZXMLTV)

Data has reappeared in the app, so I’ve pushed a manual update with the missing data included. You can either manually refresh your guide data now, or wait until the automated refresh.

Thank you @shea9872 - all sorted now. Thanks again for providing this NZ EPG. It is fantastic. I have experimented with several library server and PVR solutions following the death of TiVo in NZ and Plex with a Plexpass and your EPG is my favourite by far.

Could I get your advice? I am having issues recording from the PVR since last weekend. The issue may be of my own making as when I encountered issues last Sunday I reinstalled my Plex server in an attempt to resolve it. The guide seems to update fine and I can record live TV from the guide but when I schedule a recording it does not record. In the log there are a lot of messages and I struggle to isolate which are relevant but I wondered if you thought this one may be relevant:

Oct 06, 2019 02:45:18.510 [0x7f4863735700] ERROR - downloadContainer: expected MediaContainer element, found html
Oct 06, 2019 02:45:18.510 [0x7f4863735700] WARN - DVR:Subscription: No container available for /tv.plex.providers.epg.xmltv:2/metadata/tv%2Eplex%2Exmltv%3A%2F%2Fshow%2FRWC%25202019%2520South%2520Africa%2520V%2520Italy%2520Live

Could this suggest that Plex is having an issue with the structure of the XML guide?

Plex seems to read the guide OK and I can search it. The only issue is that scheduled recordings aren’t recorded (the file does not appear in the file system and no new entry in the Plex library).

Looks like it might be a Plex issue. So are you able to schedule the recordings, but they don’t record, or are you not able to schedule them at all?

Thanks for your reply. Scheduling works fine but nothing records. But it does seem to record if I record a current show from the EPG.

Unfortunately with a combination of reinstalling plex and both the server and player software versions updating since the last time a scheduled recording was successful (Saturday before daylight savings time change) a lot has changed so it will make it harder to find the cause. I will experiment.

Hi @shea9872,
Sorry to disturb you again but the guide accessible today only seems to have 100 entries (only entries for TV2 through to Thursday and no data for the other channels).

I’m experiencing the same issue as Dave_WRC, only has listings for Channel 2, the rest show Unknown Airing in the guide.

I have the same problem as well, just TV2 showing.

Yeah, there’s been some bizzare issues with the data source. Not much I can do, but I might set the script to run every hour or something, so that these types of issues are minimised.

As for this time, I won’t be able to fix it until tonight sorry

Fixed now. Sorry about this once again everyone. I’ve now set it up to run the script every hour, so if an issue like this occours again, a manual refresh should fix it. If not, ping me in this thread and I can take a look.

Much appreciated @shea9872!

Hi… It looks like there is still something wrong with the (source?) data. For example, for me, some entries, like TV1, have “Unknown Airing” (TV1 on 9/10 at 20:45?) TV1 also disappears from tomorrow in the guide.
:slightly_frowning_face:

Same, didn’t want to look like a moaner.

Looks like the faster automated updates have solved this issue. It’s really bizzare this is happening at all honestly, I don’t see any errors or anything in the logs, it just seems like the data source is acting up…

No, it’s quite alright! It’s important that these issues are brought to my attention, so that is always helpful.

Thanks @shea9872, the guide is still not 100%.

Friday midday - 1 and Prime show Unknown Airing
Saturday midday - 1,2 & Prime Unknown Airing
Sunday ThreeLife is the same, and there is an Unknown Airing on 2 from 1.45 - 2.40.
Monday 12pm, TV 2 and ThreeLife both show Unknown Airing.
Just some random examples I’ve come across.

Refreshed again, and looking at Monday now TV2 is back, but Prime is missing entirely.

Appears to be sorted again. Generally these issues should sort themselves out within the hour.

As to why it is happening - I’m still stumped!

Hi @shea9872 … Looks like the problem is back. Getting lots of “Unknown Airing” across multiple channels: 1, 3, Bravo, 1+1…

Observing a similar pattern here with similar channels affected as you this evening (Wednesday 30th Oct).
