I’ve noticed as well as my brother, that if a show is rebooted or a newer version - the program guide shows the original. It took a while for the program guide to update MacGyver - I’m trying to set up a recording for Hawaii Five-0 and it’s still showing the show from 1968 in the program guide. Anyway for me to update it on my server?
You can manually rename/move the 2010 version to a new folder in your library and match the new 2010 show to TheTVDB so it has the metadata for the correct show. I am currently doing this same thing with the 2010 episodes that are recorded and placed in the 1968 show folder.
Am I correct in thinking that any new shows recorded will still force plex to create the 1968 TV Show details again, it completely ignores the fix you put in place earlier?
So you end up with the New and Old Show details listed as two seperate TV show folders, meaning you have to perform another fix match.
I am recording both the 1968 and 2010 shows. Since the Program Guide data coming from Gracenote is putting both shows together I need to manually move the 2010 shows to the correct location. Once moved Plex does not show the 1968 show information for the 2010 show in the library. FYI the issue is apparently bigger than Gracenote as even the TV Guide Data I looked at last week for Hawaii Five-O showed both season data with the same show name, Hawaii Five-O for both shows versus Hawaii Five-0 (zero) for new show.
