I have a copy of “The Langoliers (1995)” that aired over 2 nights and should be 2 video files, but my copy is 1 single file. I would like to name it with both Episode 1 and Episode 2. Something like this “The Langoliers (1995) Episode 1 - Episode 2” is it possible and still match it or force it to match? Thanks
See the section on Multiple Episodes in a Single File. It can be named correctly so that it shows up as both episodes in Plex, but it will still PLAY the entire file when you go to either episode, which isn’t ideal.

Or if you prefer to split it into two files:
Thanks for the feed back. Too funy I just came to say I used MKVToolNix to split the file and name as below.
The Langoliers (1995) S01E01
The Langoliers (1995) S01E02
TMDB, TVDB and Plex will have to wrench:
The Langoliers (1995)
from my cold, dead hands…
The Langoliers (1995)/
......The Langoliers (1995).mkv
Fix Match/Search Options/Agent/Personal Media
15 seconds of Hand Editing.
Whoosh…
A Movie - just like it always was.
this happens with many stephen king ‘tv movies’ or mini-series.
many of them used to be in the movie db, but apparently they got purged, I guess they don’t think tv movies are movies.
but I guess netflix movies are ok.
in any case, plex handles single file multiple episodes as already linked above
/data4/media/tvarchive/Friends (1994)/Season 10/Friends (1994) - s10e17-e18 - The Last One + The Last One [x264 AC3 5.1].mkv
if its a 3 epsides in one file, then it would be showname - s01e01-e03 - episode 1 + episode 2 + episode 3.mkv
It was no big deal to split the movie into it’s respective parts. I’d just as soon have them the way they aired, but yes I did realize I could simply use Personal Media.
@TeknioJunky actually all the ones I’ve fixed are still in the movie database, they are just listed as they aired on TV. I’ve fixed all but two and I’ll do those later.
