Protest for disservice

One of the hallmarks of Plex is represented by the fact that its client has been present for some time on almost all smart TVs.
Unfortunately this uniqueness, this option that is useful to everyone, not just to those who have bought a latest generation TV.

Now, unfortunately, the logic of evolution put me in the corner, I will not change TV and I hope its is a problem of mine… but i can’t resolve… i’m on plex lifetime.

I have a request, leave the channels open also for old clients, or give the possibility to downgrade to a previous version that allows me to use my “old” Panasonic of 2017 or my LG with “WebOS” of 2018.
It’s not impossible … just one option is enough to force towards the previous protocols … I don’t think Live tv, movies or other features are more requested or appreciated than the ability to use plex anywhere and on any TV.

You might need to be more specific.
It’s true that Plex can no longer support some older smart tvs where the underlying platform is not able to provide secure connections. This was announced some time ago.

That being said… this e.g. to pre-2017 Panasonic models and pre-WebOS models.
Therefore not sure what has changed for you but it shouldn’t be that particular issue.

Plex.tv not reachable…

Server is ok And works With other clients. Lg is online… Netflix run welll

Any idea?

But Why Netflix And other serious net farm don’t have this problem?
This is a false problem… Every good farm have security in their focus but Without create damage to their customers.

Great suggestion.
Yes it would be great if Plex could fix the changes they made to allow loyal users to continue to use the Smart TV apps.
I hope that Plex understand that many users prefer the simplified Interface and features of the older apps, as they only want to be able to play and share their media.
New features being pushed such as Live TV etc are of no interest to many users - they simply want a media server for their own media with an attractive interface.
The smart TV apps were great as it gave the ability to share media with older and less tech-savvy users who could simply press ‘apps’ on their tv remote and then select ‘Plex’.
The need for a seperate device such as a chromecast or an Apple TV etc is a backwards step and a deal-breaker unfortunately.
Please Plex allow these apps to continue to function correctly and users that are interested in the new features can purchase extra devices to run the latest version of the player.
To drop something like this on loyal users during a global pandemic when many have lost their jobs, are stuck at home having to self-isolate and are in financial difficulty is brutal.
