PS3 App Can't See Servers, But DLNA works

So I’ve been using Plex to stream since before there was a PS3 app, I use it with my PS3 and Roku 2. I recently decided to try the app for playstation, but I always end up with the same screen, a “no servers found, make sure plex is running and logged in” type screen. This comes up after I successfully link my app to my PC based media server using plex.tv/link and entering in the 4 digit code displayed by the PS3 app. Meanwhile, the PS3 can still find and access all my plex media through its DLNA(?) interface, which involves navigating a lot of folders in the XMB, and I ran into no problems linking the roku on my other tv.

  • PS3 and PC are connected by ethernet through the same switch
  • After a search I’m pretty sure there aren’t any other streaming services on my PC (that would conflict with the port?)
  • I’ve tested it with my antivirus turned off

I’m running my plex server on a windows7 desktop PC, I’m not even sure where the problem is, any pointers would be helpful.

Ive got the same issue - I thought it was something with my network but my LG TV on the same wifi can see the plex server with no problems - hopefully there is an easy fix

2 quick questions:

  1. Is your PMS showing as available remotely (requirement for the PS app regardless of whether they are on the local network)
  2. Is your PMS set to Require SSL (not supported by the PS app yet)?

@madcowxv can you make sure you are signed into to your server (Settings> Server > General), checking your user name I don’t see you having signed into any servers.

@wakeler I can see a server linked to your account so yours looks like a network issue.

Had a similar problem and after enabling remote play was able to find the server. Thank you for the answer.
