Watching movies through PLEX on play station 4 is almost unusable, choppy and very slow. when I use the MEDIA PLAYER on the same PS4, the movies are super fast and no lag at all. I made a paid subscription to PLEX only for the ps4, if this issue can not be solved, I will be forced to cancel my monthly subscription
I’m not sure how you realize Plex works. Plex at it’s nature is a server/client software. Plex client transcodes stuff from your server if your PS4 client can’t support the codec. The PS4 doesn’t support that many codecs for external apps. That is why.
I downloaded the native PS4 media player and although it has a dull boring interface and displaying subtitles is next to impossible, yet it doesnt crash at all, and the movies from the SAME source (the NAS) play perfectly well without any single interruption at all on the media server.
