When using web or iOS app music plays fine, but on the PS4 app, I get …
“This server is not powerful enough to convert video”
Which is weird since a) it’s MP3 files which don’t need converting b) only occurs on PS4
Any ideas or suggestions please.
My server is a synology DS214+

the PS4 cannot play music from apps other than Sony's. we have to transcode music into a video container for it to work in the app. if you try to play it in the Web app for example in the PS4 browser for example it will not play at all either
Ok that I can see…
However, the PS3 system led DLNA support will connect to my PLEX server and play music fine, but the PS3 PLEX app will not, it also throws up the transcoding error.
I can transcode movies no probs on the PS4 app/server combo I have, so why not MP3 files?
