Alright, I’m having the blank loading screen, which from here on out I will call the Plex Screen Of Death. Plex for PS4 no longer loads anything upon startup. I have tried reinstalling but that reverted me back to the same issue I had with PSOD. At this point I can’t even reach my Plex Cloud Servers provided to me by the Lifetime Pass I bought. Please revert this release as it is not production ready.

This new UI is trash. It is slow and clunky and it tells me videos I JUST ADDED are not there. Trying to turn on subtitles on a video use to take a few clicks, now I have to go through a menu system then back out of said menu system.

Agreed, new UI is slow, sluggish and a step back in UI functionality.

Same Problem with original PS4 with remote access from a guest user. Keeps hanging or dropping from Plex server. After that can’t reconnect.
UI is a step back from before. The new interface doesn’t shows all my folders at once.

New Plex ay worth a wank, get the old one back

Agreed. I would very much like the previous version or a way to downgrade to the previous version.

I cant even select my user as it freezes on the screen.

I go to select something I KNOW IS IN MY DATABASE and it states that there is no page for this item. If I go back to the listings and hit SQUARE it will start playing the first unwatched episode then through a series of ungodly menus I can get to the series page or the movie page for the item. WTF Plex. You push this terrible update and we have to fuddle through trying to watch items?

@Moussa

Any news? My users are really getting pissed off from the current situation. Wouldn’t it be possible to release the old version again, at least all of them did.

Please roll it back to the older version.

I can stand the new UI, even if I don’t like it and I think that wasn’t really necessary. The big problem is, after the recent update, I have to uninstall and reinstall Plex every time that I switch on my PS4. It plays fine, as long as I don’t switch off my PS4, but if I do, I’m no longer able to open Plex. It will just show a neverending loading screen with a circle in the middle. The only solution I’ve found so far is uninstall and install again. Every single time. Which is ridiculous. So please, Plex team, roll back to the last stable version.

Ok, so I’ve narrowed down the skipping forward problem. If I activate subtitles it plays normally. I have a PS4 Pro btw.

@Moussa

According to my users, even with the latest update the problems haven’t gone away and you have to delete and reinstall the app every time you want to use it.

Why are we users never taken seriously?

Why is it not possible to unlock the old version that worked everywhere until these problems are solved? It is really tedious lately!!!

Exactly the same problem as others like @thomy22 and @SimonaGhera
I have tried a rollback, but this is just not possible
The only way to get it to work it to uninstall it, reinstall it, go through the process of adding the code on your computer and then you can watch it. As soon as you leave Plex, you have to go through the process again.

  1. Why update something without testing it first?
  2. Updates are meant to be improvements, this update fails on every level, from functionality to appearance (don’t get me started on that)
    It really needs to be rolled back and however thought this update was a good idea needs to either pick up their P45 or finish their work experience early

OK, PS can’t fix it. The response I got was:-
Hello! I’m sorry to hear that. We sadly don’t have the ability to fix the Plex app as this is not run by ourselves. All we would be able to recommend is to reinstall Plex and contact the publisher. ^PS

Which hundreds of people have already contacted Plex, but yet no response from them.
Terrible. Plex is going down hill.

I’m new to Plex but wanted to use it on PS4 but now find when playing music from the NAS, Plex randomly freezes during play back of the song, you have to back out and come back to the song to re-start. Sometimes it will play a few tracks in succession fine but then randomly stops again. I don’t know if that problem existed before this update or not but it’s very disappointing.

(previously posted in different and probably wrong thread)

Since my ps4 plex player updated to the latest version, every time I try to click on my user I just get an endlessly spinning wheel in the centre of the screen and all navigation diappears. The only workaround I have found is to force close the app and then reopen and log out and log back in using the 4 digit code thingy. All then works fine until the next time I try to log back in. I also have to aquire the code if and when it crashes.

Using Plex version 3.76.1 on PlayStation 4 Model CUH-1116A

Please advise if there is a setting I need to change or something. Before the update, I just clicked on my user and the menu opened up
