I’m the proud owner of a shiny new PS 4 and Playstation TV. Managed to get it all working today (even after the w*nker hackers) and saw there is a Plex app for PS4! Well done Devs for getting one out.
But the problem is, on the PSTV, when I lauch the app I get a message saying “unable to play blocked scene” - this needs to be sorted out so Plex can still go anywhere and everywhere. I saw a thread online about disabling HDCP but as soon as you do that you can’t launch any TV apps (tried Netflix, Sky Go and Now TV) on the console itself or anywhere.
Devs - please fix this for the Plex App
It would indeed be interesting to know if an app developer can decide if an app is blocked for remote play or not on the playstation platform. Or is it the decision of sony?
True. Hopefully it’s something the Devs can switch off at will - in which case there are a lot of apps that Devs need to go over again as the Playstation TV is crippled if they can’t and only half as useful as it could be
I'm afraid it might be a licensing thing. The NHL app also bars you from remote play video. I created a thread here just the other day asking/hoping that a native Vita/PSTV app comes. I can already access my Plex in plenty of ways, but I'd like it on PSTV so I can use my bluetooth headphones I just bought for it in my bedroom. I currently don't have any other easy way of doing wireless headphones in there.
I would kill to be able to access plex on my PStv. it'd let me get rid of my roku2
