PS5 - H.265 files skipping during playback

I’ve seen a couple threads on this, which have both been closed, but the issue has not been resolved.

Anytime I have anything that is H.265, the video just skips forward at various points. jumping back before the skip to see if it will play results in the application skipping forward again at the same spot.

The only solution I’ve found to solve the issue is to redo the videos at H.264. Only then, do I see that the application doesn’t skip any longer. The common factor every time is H.265. The application clearly doesn’t handle it well. Granted, it’s difficult to pinpoint.

Whomever needs to test this, needs to get an hour long video file using H.265 and watch it through, paying attention. You will notice the skips.

Edit - Updated to 64bit version (server) and still have the same issue. Witnessed a few files actually slowed in playback. Same file on other devices (iPad, iPhone and PC) all worked fine. It’s the PS5 version of the application that is having issues.

Glad it is not only me. But Plex on PS5 is a hit or miss. It is unbelievable that Plex on PS5 can’t handle such content while my crappy Roku TV is able to direct play. I gave up on watching things on PS5 via Plex. Plex on my TVs works miles better.

So what’s deal? Admins and devs need to address this!

Dont expect too much… I am waiting a year some bugs to be resolved for xbox… Seems nobody care…

I have the same problem on my PS5, it’s only H265 video. Plex can you please fix this problem? Thanks
