PS5 plex over saturated colours and endless buffer

PS5 has over saturated colours and contrast is off… lots of orange. And it sits and buffers

It only happens on direct stream… turning off direct stream fixes issue

Same. This was to be expected as this is not a native PS5 app. They are probably working on a native app or better stability of the PS4 app on the PS5. Fingers crossed :crossed_fingers:

Same thing happened to me, thought my PS5 was going berserk. Thanks for the confirmation :+1:t5:.

No. I expect a company I pay a monthly service fee to for plex pass, to have a stable app on a new console.
It’s called testing

It is called testing and that’s what we’re doing. It’s unlikely they got very early access to it, if any.

That probably explains when everybody in You Only Live Twice looked like they had 3rd degree sunburns and why all my x256 4k content is buffer city.

I don’t believe this is a PS5 issue. I have a Roku Ultra that is having the exact same issue with basically all of my server’s content. I’m wondering if it is an x265 issue with DirectStream as all of my content is 10-bit HEVC. The weirdest thing that I notice is that for about 1/2 of a second when the stream first starts playing, the colors look normal then it suddenly saturates the reds. As soon as I disable DirectStream it looks perfect. Since it is converting the stream to x264, it seems logical to me that x265 playback in some Plex apps may be borked.

So yes they would of… it’s like apple not giving developers early access to IOS in June lol

Same color issue for me with old Animaniac series (not the reboot). I have a 1080p LG Oled TV with no 4K nor HDR. Other Plex apps (ie. smart TV’s) do not have the issue.
