Looking for assistance with server settings. I could always access my media via the internet from laptops and tablets no issues. I decided to purchase a plex pass so I can access my media from mobile devices. Ever since the purchasing plex pass I have to log into the media server before anything can see the media including devices on the same network locally. Both local devices and remote say the server is not reachable . It defeats the whole reason I purchased the pass. Are there any settings I need to change so I can access the media on the server without having to log directly into the server first?
Not sure I can follow your question/issue.
I take it your server and the client apps are all signed in with the same Plex account?
From what I’ve seen, sometimes it might take a server reboot and restarting the client (or at least signing out and back in) for them to pick up the Plex Pass. That should not impact the server itself appearing online though.
Thank you for the response. I’m not sure what is causing it but every morning, or any time over about 6 hours, When I try to use the web app to access plex the “server is unavailable” until I log into the media server on the NAS directly. As soon as I log into the server all the devices can access the media stored there via web app. I travel a bit and don’t have access to the NAS to log in to the media server all the time. This issue only started when I purchased the plex pass. Before that any web based device could hit the web app and the sever was there and accessible. Does the plex pass change some security settings or something that require direct server log in prior to web app use?
