[Q]: advertisement while watching media from personal libraries

Dear community
I am a plex pass member for quite some years now and enjoy pley very much! As plex pass member i am aware that advertizings are played when watching live tv (media which is not on ones personal library), which is ok so far.

However, just today i noticed quite frequent advertisements being played while i was watching content from my personal library (tv shows, not live tv).

It got pretty annoying since these ads were presented quite frequently (every 15 - 25 minutes) even though i was logged in with my plex pass user.
I had never noticed any adverts before when watching stuff from my personal library. Thus, i was wondering what happened. I searched support articles but the ones i came across stated that advertisements would not be played when watching media from personal libraries.

Anyone facing similar problems and if so, how did you solve it?

Thnaks very much in advanced for your help!

Chris

Did you start watching it from Continue Watching? Chances are the show is also available on Plex’s VOD service, and that’s what started playing: Why am I now seeing advertisements in my PERSONAL library while watching my content? - Plex Media Server / NAS & Devices - Plex Forum

Wow, that was quick!

I deed i did use the “continue watching” feature this time. I usually start by navigating to the library and then select the one i want to play.
I will try that and see how it goes!

Thanks very much for your quick response und great tip!
Chris

If you have Plex’s stream source pinned, then it will suggest its copies of your shows in Continue Watching. I got bitten by this too.
