This is a bug in the SDL2 library. You can workaround it by disconnecting any controllers while using the app.

I can give it a try for the sake of testing. But overall can’t, it is the way for me to interact with the HTPC, I don’t have any other input device

Do you know by when we have a fix available?

Do you believe the playback problem is related to the same thing?

Unfortunately that is a question for the SDL2 team. I’ve not seen any indications that this has been fixed in their subsequent release notes and their subsequent versions have broken building the library in certain environments.

This can cause a whole host of problems including causing playback to fail.
