The Plex experience with this TV (QN65Q70AAFXZC) is really bad at the moment,
The most problems I encounter are audio issues.

Note that theses issues does not happen on another LG tv and my other Samsung tv (UN43TU7000FXZC)

1- Transcoding audio (AC-3 Stereo) to AAC (seems to happens when the audio track is not the first one). I expect direct play here. EDIT: CONFIRMED BY THE LOGS
Example of a mkv that does this :

Audio #1
ID : 2
Format : E-AC-3

Stream size : 68.1 MiB (3%)

2- Completely inaudible or corrupted audio with PCM:

Exemple no sound / corrupted for both tracks I think they are converted agin to AAC:

Audio #1

Audio #2

Stream size : 4.07 GiB (13%)

Text
ID : 4
Format : PGS
Muxing mode : zlib
Codec ID : S_HDMV/PGS

3- FLAC audio file with no sound

Example this file is not playing any sound:

Audio
Format : FLAC
Format/Info : Free Lossless Audio Codec
Duration : 5 min 35 s
Bit rate mode : Variable
Bit rate : 5 588 kb/s
Channel(s) : 2 channels
Channel layout : L R
Sampling rate : 192 kHz
Bit depth : 24 bits
Compression mode : Lossless
Stream size : 223 MiB (100%)
Writing library : ProStudioMasters

I think every time when I look at the server it is always trying to convert to AAC while most of the file should be able to direct play. At least they do on my most cheaper Samsung TV.

awesome…

Could you provide some logs, and a sample clip that reproduces the issue? I’m not seeing issues on my TV.

Here is a 15 seconds sample
Star.Trek.Strange.New.Worlds.S01E07.zip (18.0 MB)

You must select the French language.

On 2021 Samsung TVs, audio track selection doesn’t work. We have to select the audio stream via the server so we have to remux. AC3 audio played over DASH that isn’t direct played also has issues with audio skipping, so it needs to be transcoded to AAC, so that’s why you’re seeing audio being transcoded here.

Do you have samples of the PCM or FLAC issues?

I see, that’s disappointing of Samsung. Have any idea if it’s a bug from the 2021 model or they just simply does not want to support that?
Also sometimes, when the audio is translated to AAC, its out of sync, I must go back or quit plex and resume to make it in sync again.

For the PCM and FLAC I’ll make you some sample soon.

Edit: here is the PCM sample. FLAC will follow later it’s a little bit more complicated for me to create the sample.
