Remember, ICMP ping delivery and reply is NOT required when TCP traffic is demanding bandwidth (TCP is higher priority in the OSI model stack)

Today I have re-encoded any m4v and mkv files to mp4 and checked all filenames etc. just incase there was a file it was having trouble reading.

CPU and memory are low (the 670pro originally came with 2GB ram but I doubled that).
problem happening at 2am is VERY convenient.
The default Butler (Scheduled Tasks) start time is 2am.

will show you the butler start / end time window and the tasks it’s performing.

How is it configured in QTS and do you have it plugged into an unmanaged switch or a managed switch which supports LACP ?
yes, scheduled tasks were set to 2am (changed to 00:00 from tonight)
The bond is on a managed switch with LACP set up okay.
I have previously discounted this by removing the bond to separate NICs and the packet loss behaviour is the same across both interfaces.
