QNAP HD Station showing "Search" across entire left navigation bar, e.g. use to be Music, Movies, Photo, ... now it's all showing Search, Search, Search

Problem:
Connecting from web via to NAS (QTS4.53 PRO - QTP.4.3) via plex.tv has no issue.

Connecting from Hybrid Desk station via HDMI to NAS is seeing “Search Search Search…” across the left Navigation bar

I have already tried with the following:

  1. Remove the Plex from QNAP Store
  2. remove Plex Hybrid Desk Station
  3. restart QNAP
  4. remove all Authorised devices from plex.tv via web
  5. login to QNAP
  6. download latest QKPG from Plex
  7. Install Plex on QNAP Store
  8. Start Plex on both QNAP Store and Hybrid Desk Station
  9. No problem connecting from web
  10. No problem opening Plex via QNAP Store
  11. Still seeing same Search Search Search from Hybrid Desk Station connected to NAS via HDMI to monitor

I have called up QNAP, after 2 months of interaction (several attempts via teamviewer), they have advised that they are not familiar with Plex and unable to resolve the issues. they have suggested that i approach Plex instead.

Anyone has similar problem and managed to resolve?

First some info then to get you on your way:

  1. PHT is no longer supported by Plex.
  2. QNAP maintains PHT in their HD Station repository.
  3. At some point, It’s likely to stop working. It will be up to qnap to resolve that.
  4. What you show is PHT before being linked to your Plex Account

In screeen (with all the Search) lines,

  1. Cursor to the left and Sign In
  2. It will take you to the 4 character PIN
  3. Enter that pin at plex.tv/link
  4. Give it a moment and it will sign into your account and see your library sections.
