Hi!
I have used Plex Home Theater so far on my TV without any problems. From one day to another it started to show only “searching, searching, searching” in the left bar of its menu.
While searching on the net, I have found that I shall login to my account in Plex Home Theater, therefore I must set a 4 digit PIN in my Plex account and link it in the https://www.plex.tv/link/ url.
Well, I could add the PIN in my account settings, but the link doesn’t accept it. I have tried dozens of times.
In the Home Theatre app on the TV, it is impossible to log in. While trying to give my user name and password, it searches forever. When trying to give the PIN, the form doesn’t show up, it searches forever.
The Plex Home Theater app is installed to the QNAP NAS. So it not on the TV, neither the PC, it is on the NAS, specifically on the Hybrid Desk Station.
This has stopped to work while showing only searching, searching, searching…
Sorry if my original post was not clear.
I confirm that the app is not installed on the TV, as it is not a smart TV.
I have a QNAP NAS (model TS-251+), which is connected via HDMI to my TV.
Plex Home Theater is installed on the NAS, within its Hybrid Desk Station.
Therefore I use Plex HT on my TV, but through the NAS.
Plex Home Theater on QNAP hardware has never been an officially supported app.
And Plex Home Theater on PC hardware hasn’t been supported since several years already. The Plex server and the cloud infrastructure behind it have now evolved to a point, that PHT is no longer usable.
Hi, thank you for your reply.
Weird that if never officially supported, how PHT is still in the app list of QNAP’s Hybrid Desk Station, ready to be installed. You don’t need any special hack to install it.
I tried to resolve my issue based on this treat:
But for me it doesn’t work, this is why I have started this tread. Plex doesn’t accept the PIN for me and in PHT, the PIN doesn’t even show up, it doesn’t let me to log in.
