QNAP Library Missing after move

Server Version#:
Player Version#:

Hi there

My libraries are not showing properly.

Old Nas (NASTB)
New Nas (NAS3)

1 - Stop Plex Server on original QNAP
2- Used RSync to move the media files.
3 - Installed Plex on New NAS.
4 - Stopped Plex on new NAS
5 - Copied the Libraries folder over from CACHEDEV1_DATA/.qpkg/PlexMediaServer on old to new NAS
6 - Started Plex
7 - Plex requested a Server name so I gave it a new one.
8 - No Libraries showing.

I can manually add them but I would like to retain all of my Metadata eg matches, collections I’ve made or deleted and what I’ve watched and not watched.

Can you point me in the direction of what I might have missed as I’m guessing I’m missing something obvious.

Thanks

J

Go in and manually grab the log files (ZIP) please.

PMSLibShare (Github app by Dane22) is great for this. Go to ‘Releases’ there and get the .qpkg.

Assume Libraries is a typo?

Please show a screendump of CACHEDEV1_DATA/.qpkg/PlexMediaServer on the new server, as well as of CACHEDEV1_DATA/.qpkg/PlexMediaServer/Library

That’s the path to the libraries you created, and not what I asked for…

I asked for a screenshot of the file-system layout in PMS install dir!
Please scroll up, and see the path

And when said, you did kinda select the wrong place to put you medias, but that another store

Hi Dane22

I’ve created a shortcut to the folder new nas on the left old on the right.

The Path is CACHEDEV1_DATA/.qpkg/PlexMediaServer for the first image and CACHEDEV1_DATA/.qpkg/PlexMediaServer/Library for the second

the first obvious problem seems to be a lot of missing files in the root directory on the new nas

Let me know what else you may need

Thanks again

J

I didn’t realise the Media files were in the wrong place I assumed Multimedia folder would have been the right place doh

You clearly see, on the top screenshot, that you are missing binaries on NAS3, and as such, the path is 100% wrong when you created the share!

Hi Dane22

I saw the missing files when Plex was installed and the directory was automatically created during the install I’ve just created a share to the directory so you can see the files.

Do I just need to copy them over or just delete the entire directory and start again. As I have the share available I could over write the entire directory.

Hi Dane22

I have fixed the problem it seems the Plex server that you can install from the QNAP Applications page does not install correctly and misses a lot of files eg the Binaries.

I have downloaded version 1.18 and installed that manually. Once this was done I recopied the library directory and it all works.
