I have been using PMS on my QNAP NAS for several years. Recently, I can’t get it to update the library (by clicking on Scan Library Files) with new files or old files removed. I pulled up the naming convention and verified I was following it, but still no luck. I know I’m using the Multimedia folder against recommendations, but I set it up that way prior to seeing the recommendation and it’s been working fine for years.
I’m attaching a screen capture of some example files that aren’t added.
I’ve also uploaded my PMS logs.
Ah, I didn’t realize the season folder wasn’t optional.
Turns out none of that was the problem, but it did lead me to the solution. While creating a new Plex Media folder (not using Multimedia) as recommended, I noticed that somehow my TV folder was set to:
/share/CACHEDEV1_DATA/.qpkg/CodexPack/share/Multimedia/TV
Instead of:
/share/CACHEDEV1_DATA/Multimedia/TV
When I changed it to the second folder, it then started working again (shocking that you have to point Plex to the correct folder in order for it to work). Going to follow your advice and move my Plex Media out of the multimedia folder anyway to prevent future issues.
I did recently install a PMS update, not sure if that had anything to do with it.
