Qnap nas plex server 404 not found issue

Server Version#: 1.25.5
Player Version#: n/a

Hi I just downloaded plex media server and installed manually on QNAP 872xt - but upon opening it just says 404 not found

pls help?

Read somewhere else saying the server will show up in a few days - thats the case?

why did you install it manually? but not via Qnap App Center? I also have Qnap TS-230 and Plex works fine

No, that’s not the case. It should during initial install be up and running in less than one minute

What url did you use?

I installed from the store - which is a lower version - but same issue
404 poped up

the url pop up another window when clicking on plex media server icon
its sth like this http://151.192.xx.xx:32400/web
same ip as the NAS interface

try in App center: Stop Plex and then Run Plex
Are you using NASipADRR:32400/web

did this - still 404
ip is correct

Above IP address is not private address space, which is a req. during initial claiming!

You might be lucky using this: Installation | Plex Support

Search for “On a Different Network”

should I set my qnap to 192.168.xx.xx same as my current private address range?

Or if I leave it as 151.192.xx.xx then I should follow the instruction on windows …?(my desktop is windows) and use ssh ip.address.of.server -L 8888:localhost:32400 … it tells me
kex_exchange_identification: Connection closed by remote host

Above is highly recommended, since 192.168.x.x is not routed on the internet, and as such, helps you in protecting your QNAP

Edit: And a reboot afterwards of your QNAP is recommended, as well as you check the QNAP default router and DNS settings

ok its working now - finger crossed!
thanks
