QNAP NAS TS-231P video not playing when streaming on Chromecast

Server Version#: TS-231P
Player Version#: 1.29.2.6364

I installed Plex with the latest updates on my NAS. The video’s seems to be playing fine on the Plesk desktop app, my Smartphone (android) and my Smart TV (LAN). This is because the video is playing the original quality.
When i try to stream the video from my phone to my chromecast (wireless), Plex tries to convert the quality (which my NAS probably can’t handle). The video will forever freeze during the process.
I also have this problem when i stream the video on the Firefox webbrowser (although the desktop app works fine, because the desktop app plays the original quality).

I have tinkered around a bit with the transcoding setting, but i couldn’t figure out how to get my Plex NAS working with my Chromecast.

Any suggestions what might be the cause of this and how i can solve this? Could it be my Chromecast (which is an older model)? Or is my NAS not powerfull enough?

EDIT: Forgot to mention, i currently only have this problem when playing video’s that have built in subtitles (Anime for example).

Most of the ChromeCast devices can’t handle subtitles.
(check the specifications about what your model supports)

Subtitle burning-in will be the biggest difficulty for your NAS (Low CPU power)

If you need/require the subtitles, consider pre-burning them into the video (handbrake or ffmpeg) before you give it to Plex. This way, PMS will be able to stream the video (which happens to have the subtitle as part of the image already).
