QNAP - Plex Server starts then drops out after 30 odd secs

Server Version#:1.23.4

Start by restarting your QNAP completely, and if you upgraded from QTS 4.2, you’ll need to upgrade your PMS

If not, and still not working after a restart, we’ll need PMS Logs

Thanks you very much for the quick replay.

I have restarted the QNAP and i updated to the latest firm which is h4.5.4.2138 so a little higher that 4.2. I am on the highest version of the Plex app from the store. I am not sure if I upgrade any higher unless there is way I don’t know about.

How could I get you the log files for? Is there guide for that at all?

Either the link I provided, or use the PlexData share

So looked at the guide and I thought I would chance trying the web GUI way as I have about 30 seconds before I drops.

Lucky for us it worked! Do you need all the zip file or some parts of it?

zip file please

Plex Media Server Logs_2022-09-02_22-06-08.zip (913.3 KB)

Here you go.

Thanks again for your help with this its appreciated greatly

From your log

Sep 02, 2022 22:05:42.197 [0x7fc56d199b38] ERROR - Failed to begin transaction (../Plugins/PluginDatabaseState.cpp:189) (tries=1): Cannot begin transaction. database is locked

So did you really restart your QNAP ?

Yeah twice now. I am going to shut it down this time and then manually turn it back on just in case this time. But I have selected restarted more them once.

I will let you know as soon as it back up

After that Shutdown / Start i am still getting the same issue

I reinstalled the plex server and it crashes out after 30 still so at this stage i am not sure how to get it working.

Is there any other logs your might want to see?

Are you running any AntiVira solution on your QNAP ?

If so, try and disable for a short test, and then restart QNAP
