Unable to reach Plex Server (suddenly!)

Server Version#: QNAP Intel (latest, I checked)
Player Version#: Windows 64 Bit

Suddenly, after a few years of a quite satisfying experience with a Plex Server installed on my QNAP NAS (Intel i5 Quad-Core, 3,4 GHz, latest QTS) I lost connection to the Server - with no App whatsoever I can connect to the Server (I logged out and again in, I downloaded Server and App anew - nothing!) In the Settings I get the message: “The server “QNAP-Plex” (Name of the Server) is unreachable. Make sure it’s running, double check your network, and try again.” I really don’t know what I’m missing… Any suggestions? Thank you!

Same story for me. I upgraded to QNAP 4.5.3.1670 and Plex now doesn’t work on my TS-131P. The app stops and starts OK via the app centre and on command line, but browsing to it on port 32400/web/index.html doesn’t work.

Please do the following:

  1. Control Panel - Shared Folders - create a PlexData shared folder (exact typing) anywhere you want (it only will get 1 thing in it)

  2. Restart Plex

  3. Wait 2 minutes

  4. Stop Plex

  5. File Station → PlexData/Plex Media Server

  6. Right-click Logs – create a ZIP file of the logs directory

  7. Download then upload here so I can see what’s happening,.

Here goes…

Hi Mikeyd1973,
for me it was exactly the same! I solved the problem - not really but now Plex is running again: I deleted the server from my QNAP and installed it again. I had to chose the “new” server in all my apps and everything was fine as before. However, it is a little annoying because I have to repair manually all the little glitches of the libraries… (mismatch fixes, etc.).
Good luck!

@ChuckPa did you have a chance to look at the logs?
