When we were “beta-ing” it a few months ago on phone, it took 3 hrs ish. I know we have both slept since then ![]()
Have about 4TB+ worth of movies/shows MP4s and 50k songs MP3 and Pictures backup on a TS253b
I’m running a comparative compression test now.
I want to see how long it should take.
I have a TVS-1282 (i7) which is quad core and 2+ x the speed per core
plus I am using a SSD for QTS (where PMS is) which is blazing fast.
My 5 GB is estimated to need 1h 10m on this processor on SSD.
It’s taking up a fair chunk of the CPU
The work I did was only to change the mount process so you can access it uniformly in FileStation. (no nore hocus-pocus).
I’m confused how it might have been 3 hours before but 7 hours now. Did you turn any features on or add new media?
How big is your previous backup?
here are a few pics… processing at kb’s
Just thought of… does this have to be done at the “admin” root level?
and
The new PlexData shared folder is implemented and stable in all cases I’ve seen.
Those with issues are now resolved by the new mounts.
Unfortunately, I can’t help with QTS/QuTS.
(ZFS on that little box is very heavy compared to EXT4)
“I just work here” ![]()
You are no fun… ![]()
Then stop bugging me !

@JZ5150 You should open a ticket with Qnap so that they are aware of the issue

May do that shortly
Not to bug yah! ![]()
I tried a small batch of files not in plex, to compress and no probs
I did the plexdata/tmp dir and zipped it no probs… But the tmp dir has about 3000, *.jpg’s all artwork. Can I delete them?? dir is PlexData/tmp
You can absolutely delete them!
If you run my DBRepair tool, it’ll help you clean up all kinds of junk files which aren’t needed (Documented in the README)
Umm wasn’t here for the readme. LOL
Not being captain obvious, where would I find README
- Click link

- Scroll down
- Click README.md
- READ instructions (installation and use)
- Scroll down
